Water Situation in Ireland

on February 09, 2022

We all love to have a glass of cold, fresh water especially after running or during the hot summer day. We just open the tap and here it is- crystal clear, fresh water ready to be poured to the glass. STOP!!! Don’t do that!!!We need to tell you few facts about the water supply network in Ireland.

The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) highlights water supply issues:

a) It is necessary to remove dangerous lead pipe connections (this process might take even 60 years).

b) There is inadequate disinfection of infrastructure.

c) There is poor management of harmful cleaning by-products such as trihalomethanes (THMs). THMs have been associated with negative health effects such as cancer and adverse reproductive outcomes..

In 2018 Irish Water indicated all issues made by the EPA. The most urgent ones were supposed to be completed by 2021. They have since been pushed out to 2024 and beyond, due to funding required not being available before then.

These issues lead to boiling notices nationwide that we can notice every year. Some of them last more than 30 days. Only in 2019 we had 67 of them.

Irish Water planned to invest €2 billion in water and wastewater projects by 2021. However, due to the pandemic, 95 per cent of its 300 construction sites were temporarily demobilised, which will push back timelines further

So, concerning the facts above how we can drink the water from the tap? There is a solution. You need a drinking water filter. With Reverse Osmosis-water filtration system you will be able to drink the water from your tap and the water will be pure, healthy, and tasty. Reverse osmosis removes particles, contaminants, solid substances, and bacteria using pressure to push it through a specialized membrane. Every reverse osmosis water system contains a sediment filter, a carbon filter, RO membrane and remineralizers. Sediment filter reduces particles-for example dirt. Carbon filter reduces organic compounds like e.g. chlorine, and other contaminants that give water a bad taste or odour. The membrane removes up to 98% of total dissolved solids and remineralizing filters add back healthy minerals that are lost in the reverse osmosis process to improve water pH balance for optimally alkaline drinking water.

Don’t risk your health invest in Reverse osmosis system and enjoy crystal clear and healthy water from your tap. Please visit Water Filter section on our website
